More power to you!

The next time there is a big family event, like a wedding a birthday or a celebration that calls for something special, why don’t you surprise everyone by your technical skills – make and present a presentation of family anecdotes, photos and other things that will amuse, entertain and touch your viewers.

And it’s easy. It can be done on software called PowerPoint. Using this software you can make a slide show not just with text, but photos and other visuals as well. You can also put animation – but we’ll save that for late. Here’s how you get started: 

• On any windows computer, click on the Microsoft office suite.

• Select Microsoft PowerPoint.

• When the software opens it will offer you several templates. Chose one.

• If you want to change or select another layout, Click on “format” and select “slide layout” for a choice of layouts, select that one you want.

• If you would like to have a background design, click on “format” and select “slide design” for a choice of backgrounds, select that one you want.

• Click in the text boxes to type the text

• If you want more slides, click on the “insert” on the menu bar on top. And click on “pages”.

• If you want to insert a picture, again click on the “insert” on the menu bar on top. And click on “picture”.

• After you have finished, save the file. When you want to present it, open the file, go to “slide show” and click on “view slide show.” Enjoy!
